Tuesday to bring rain, strong winds and highs of 16C

Rain will move east across Estonia on Tuesday as skies clear from the west, with temperatures reaching 16C, ERR reports.

A low-pressure system will move east over Scandinavia and northern Finland, leaving Estonia on its southern edge. The night will be mostly cloudy and rainy in many places. By morning, the heaviest rain will have ended in western Estonia, though showers may persist elsewhere.

Southwesterly and westerly winds will strengthen to 5-10 metres per second inland and 10-16 m/s on the coast, with gusts of up to 22 m/s. Overnight temperatures will be 11-15C.

On Tuesday, skies will clear from the west. Rain will still fall in many parts of mainland Estonia in the morning, but will move east in the afternoon. Strong southwesterly and westerly winds will ease later in the day. Temperatures will reach 14-16C.

No significant rain is expected on Wednesday. Winds from the western quarter will be strong overnight and moderate during the day, with temperatures of 3-8C overnight and 13-16C during the day.

Thursday night is expected to be dry, foggy and cool, with temperatures falling to 1C and locally below freezing at ground level inland. Thursday will remain dry during the day, but rain is forecast to reach the islands by evening. Friday is expected to be rainy, with temperatures of 10-14C, and the weekend is forecast to start wet.
