Four suspected over possible Quran burning in Vilnius

Four people have been charged in connection with the possible public burning of a Quran in Vilnius, LRT reported.

Prosecutors are investigating suspected violations of public order and incitement against a group of people on the grounds of their religion, General Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Gintarė Vitkauskaitė-Šatkauskienė told BNS on Monday. She said investigators were gathering relevant information and that further details could not be disclosed at this stage.

A Quran, or a book resembling one, was burned on the night of September 13 on Etmonų Street, outside the Bix bar. A video of the burning was widely shared online.
