Monday 5th October 2026 on 16:00 in Lithuania

forecast, lithuania, weather

Calm weather in Lithuania will give way to rain and strengthening winds later this week, with gusts near the coast reaching up to 25 metres per second on Friday, forecaster Simona Dalinkevičiūtė of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service told LRT.

Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy, with some clearer spells in southeastern districts and no significant rain expected. Southwesterly winds will be strong, with coastal gusts of 15 to 18 metres per second. Temperatures will fall to 9 to 14 degrees. During the day, a cold front will cross the country, bringing cloudy skies with sunny intervals and light rain or drizzle in some places, mainly in the southwest. Temperatures will reach 14 to 19 degrees.

Some light rain is possible in places on Wednesday night as the front moves away, but rain is unlikely during the day. Westerly winds will ease, and temperatures will range from 5 to 10 degrees overnight, or 11 to 13 degrees by the sea, and rise to 15 to 19 degrees during the day. Thursday is expected to be mostly dry. Winds will be light overnight and strengthen to moderate from the southeast or south during the day. Temperatures will reach 6 to 11 degrees in the early morning and 17 to 22 degrees in the afternoon.

A low-pressure system will bring periods of rain across the country on Friday, both overnight and during the day. Southeasterly winds will turn southwesterly. Coastal gusts could reach 20 metres per second overnight, increasing to as much as 25 metres per second during the day, when southwesterly and westerly winds are expected to reach 15 to 20 metres per second. Temperatures will be 9 to 14 degrees in the morning and 11 to 16 degrees during the day.
