Kulbergs gets most voter support, while Līdaka draws the most against marks
Andris Kulbergs of the United List received more positive marks than any other candidate in the election, while his party colleague Ingmārs Līdaka received the most marks against him, LSM reported.
Kulbergs received 58,489 marks in his favour, nearly twice the 29,679 given to runner-up Jūlija Stepaņenko of Sovereign Power/Association of Young Latvians. Three other United List candidates also made the top 10 for positive marks: Edvards Smiltēns with 17,610, Raimonds Bergmanis with 17,300 and Māris Kučinskis with 9,849.
Other candidates among those receiving the most support included Andris Šuvajevs of The Progressives, Rūdolfs Brēmanis of Sovereign Power/Association of Young Latvians, Foreign Minister Baiba Braže of New Unity and Olga Petkeviča of Latvia First.
Līdaka receives the most marks against him
Voters can mark candidates either in their favour or against them. United List candidates dominated the top 10 for marks against: Līdaka received 17,253, Aivis Ceriņš more than 13,600 and Smiltēns more than 12,600. The list also included Lauris Lizbovskis, Romualds Ražuks, Kārlis Seržants, Bergmanis and Kristīne Smiltēna.
Kaspars Briškens of The Progressives received 6,382 marks against him, while Kučinskis received 6,406. United List candidates occupied all the places from 11th to 20th in the tally of marks against. Among them were Jānis Jenzis, Līga Meņģelsone and Česlavs Batņa, who were also among the candidates with the most positive marks.
Outside the top 20, the New Unity candidates with the most marks against them were Health Minister Hosams Abu Meri, with 3,369, and former prime minister and Saeima member Evika Siliņa, with 3,193.
