New week to bring rain and strengthening winds across Estonia

Rain will move across Estonia on Monday as winds strengthen, with gusts reaching nearly 20 metres per second on the coast and islands by evening, ERR reports.

The coming night will be partly cloudy, becoming cloudier towards morning. Isolated showers and patches of fog are expected on the mainland. Winds from the west will reach 2 to 8 metres per second, with gusts of up to 12 metres per second on the coast and 14 metres per second on the islands early in the morning. Temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees, rising to 14 degrees on the coast.

Monday morning will be cloudy, with rain spreading from northwestern Estonia towards the east and southeast. Southwesterly winds will reach 3 to 9 metres per second, with gusts of up to 12 metres per second on the coast and 14 metres per second on the islands. Temperatures will range from 7 to 14 degrees.

Rain is expected in many places during the day. Southwesterly winds will strengthen to 5 to 11 metres per second, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second on the coast and 18 metres per second on the islands in the evening. Temperatures will be 11 to 15 degrees.

Tuesday night will be rainy, but skies will clear from the west during the day. Winds will remain strong across the country. Temperatures will be 11 to 15 degrees overnight and 14 to 16 degrees during the day.

There will be no precipitation on Wednesday, and winds will gradually ease. Temperatures will be 4 to 9 degrees overnight, up to 13 degrees on the coast, and 14 to 16 degrees during the day.

Thursday will be mostly dry, with showers approaching the islands towards evening. The night will be cool, with a risk of ground frost, while daytime temperatures will exceed 15 degrees. Rain is forecast for Friday.
