Estonia’s government may consider measures to ease the impact of high energy prices on households this winter, ERR reported, citing Energy and Environment Minister Erkki Keldo.
Keldo briefed the government cabinet on the energy market, price risks for the coming winter and possible ways to cushion households if energy prices rise to very high levels.
The briefing does not mean the government has decided to introduce support. The Climate Ministry said the need for measures, their conditions and their funding must be decided separately.
Whether government intervention is needed will depend largely on winter weather, the ministry said.
