Experts and students discussed how Latvia’s next parliament should address demographic challenges, migration policy and regional development at an event in Jelgava, LSM reported.
The discussion was organised by Krustpunktā, a Latvian Radio programme, at the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. Participants included the university’s Vice-Rector for Studies Ilze Beitāne, Dina Popluga, dean of its Faculty of Economics and Social Development, and public relations specialist Kristiāns Rozenvalds.
Krustpunktā is holding a series of discussions at Latvian universities to hear how students see the country’s development after the parliamentary election.
Latvia’s 15th Saeima election is scheduled for October 3. Polling stations are due to be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters can cast ballots at any polling station.
