Estonian public radio station Klassikaraadio has launched its traditional online quiz for International Music Day, ERR reports. This year’s questions focus on musicians and ensembles celebrating their 100th anniversaries, events from 100 years ago and other musical connections to the number 100.

The 15 multiple-choice questions cover classical, jazz and pop music. Audio clips, videos and photographs feature in the quiz, which was prepared by Klassikaraadio’s editors. Participants can answer by reasoning through the options or working together with friends, the station said.

“Music is interwoven with every area of life, and our quiz is built around these interesting connections,” Klassikaraadio editor-in-chief Miina Pärn said.

The correct answers will be published on Klassikaraadio’s website on Friday morning. A special programme hosted by Pärn and Lisete Velt will air on October 2 at 1 p.m., reviewing the answers, explaining the questions, sharing statistics and drawing prizes.

Prizes include concert and theatre tickets, recordings, music books and annual subscriptions to cultural publications. A special musical prize is also being offered to the top-performing class.

Last year, 4,619 people took part in the quiz. Participants came from across Estonia and included music fans of all ages, with some schools taking part as entire classes.
