Warm weather to persist as autumn frosts reach Lithuania

Lithuania will remain warm through the week, but autumn frosts are expected in the soil at night from Friday, LRT reports, citing meteorologist Elena Kliukina of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

Wednesday will be calm and dry, with a high-pressure system remaining over the country in the coming days. Skies will be partly cloudy, with clouds expected to thin in the afternoon and more sunshine to appear. Light winds are forecast, and temperatures will reach 17 to 21 degrees Celsius.

Little change is expected on Thursday, with no significant rain. Fog may form in some places overnight and in the morning. Temperatures will range from 6 to 11 degrees at night and reach 17 to 22 degrees during the day.

Similar conditions will continue in the coming days. From Friday, nighttime temperatures will fall and autumn frosts will appear in the soil, while daytime highs remain at 17 to 21 degrees.

The weekend is expected to be dry, with light winds and little change in temperature. Brief showers will return on Sunday, when winds will strengthen to 4 to 9 metres per second. Temperatures will be 6 to 11 degrees at night and 14 to 19 degrees during the day.
