Public Security Service officer investigated over alleged assault on minor

A Public Security Service officer allegedly caused physical pain to a minor in an apartment in Visaginas on Thursday, LRT reported, citing Utena County Police.

The incident was reported at about 4:45 p.m. Initial information indicates that the officer, a woman born in 1984, was off duty when the alleged assault occurred. A pre-trial investigation has been opened.

Police in Vilnius County also received reports of possible violence against minors.

One report concerned an incident in the Švenčionys district on September 5 or 6, in which a woman allegedly caused physical pain to a minor born in 2014.

Another report said that a woman born in 1991 had allegedly caused physical pain to a young child born in 2020 in Vilnius. Pre-trial investigations have also been opened in both cases.
