Experts and students discussed Latvia’s development after the parliamentary elections and the future of education policy at a debate organised by Latvijas Radio’s Krustpunktā programme on Thursday at RTU Liepāja Academy, LSM reported.

The discussion featured RTU Liepāja Academy lecturer Ivita Pelnēna, lecturer Maija Ročāne and Laura Katkeviča, principal of Liepāja Jānis Čakste Secondary School.

Krustpunktā is holding a series of debates at Latvia’s higher education institutions to hear how students view the country’s development after the elections to the 15th Saeima, Latvia’s parliament. The elections will take place on October 3, with polling stations open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The newly elected parliament is due to hold its first sitting on November 3.
