Estonia’s first permanent comedy club to open in Tallinn

Estonia’s first permanent comedy club will open in Tallinn’s Telliskivi creative district on October 2, ERR reported. Telliskivi Comedy Club will operate in the premises of the cultural bar Fonoteek.

The club was founded by comedians Sander Õigus, Mikael Meema, Roger Andre, Maria Sepp and Kaspar Kikerpill.

The founders said opening a dedicated club was a logical step after 15 years of professional stand-up comedy in Estonia. They said it would provide comedians with a regular stage for developing and testing material, while giving the local scene more performances and attracting more audiences.

The club plans to hold up to five shows a week. Thursdays will feature open-mic nights for both experienced comedians and newcomers to test new material. On Fridays and Saturdays, established Estonian stand-up comedians will perform solo shows during separate showcase evenings.

The opening show will take place on Friday, October 2, at 7 p.m.
