Crash cleanup blocks Ventspils highway between Ugāle and Pope

Traffic was blocked on the Ventspils highway between Ugāle and Pope on Wednesday evening while crews cleared the aftermath of an accident, LSM reported, citing information published by Latvian State Roads.

Police vehicles were positioned at the start of the detour to regulate traffic. Drivers could bypass the closure using the Blāzma–Ance road (V1311) and the Valdemārpils–Pope road (V1411).

Video shared on social media showed a large cylindrical load falling from a vehicle and overturning across the carriageway.
