LSM questions election list leaders ahead of Saeima vote

Latvian public media portal LSM reported that the Latvian Radio programme Krustpunktā is questioning leaders of political lists standing in the upcoming 15th Saeima elections together with radio listeners.

In the first part of Wednesday’s programme, National Alliance representative Ināra Mūrniece, ranked second on the list in the Vidzeme electoral district, is taking part. The second part features Agris Freifalts, the representative of Gobzema saraksts, who is ranked first in the Vidzeme district.

The 15th Saeima elections will take place on October 3. Polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters will be able to cast their ballots at any polling station. Fourteen candidate lists have been submitted.

Votes can be deposited in advance at all polling stations from September 28 until election day. The newly elected 15th Saeima is scheduled to meet for its first sitting on November 3, when the mandate of the 14th Saeima will end.
