Lithuania will see a warm, mostly sunny Wednesday with temperatures reaching 24 degrees Celsius, but rain and cooler conditions are expected from Thursday, LRT reported.
Ineta Daunoravičiūtė, a forecaster at the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, said Wednesday would be a pleasant and fairly summer-like day as a high-pressure system continues to influence the weather.
A new cyclone will gradually approach from the west, bringing variable cloud cover to much of the country. There should be plenty of sunshine, although thicker clouds will reach western Lithuania first. Rain is expected only in some parts of the west, mainly intermittently during the second half of the day.
Southerly winds will strengthen, and temperatures will rise to 19 to 24 degrees. The warmest conditions are expected in southern and central Lithuania.
On Thursday night, the cyclone’s clouds will move across Lithuania. Cloud cover will increase rapidly, and short periods of rain will reach many areas by morning. Temperatures will range from 10 to 15 degrees.
Thursday will bring dense cloud cover and intermittent rain in many parts of the country. Moderate to strong southwesterly to westerly winds will develop, while temperatures will reach 15 to 20 degrees.
Higher pressure is expected to strengthen on Friday, causing the clouds to clear. Brief showers will occur only in some places. Overnight temperatures will range from 6 to 11 degrees, rising to 17 to 22 degrees during the day.
