German Chancellor Friedrich Merz warned in Finland that Russia’s pressure on Europe could increase, saying the coming weeks and months could be decisive for protecting freedom and peace in Europe, ERR reported. He said Ukraine must continue to receive support.
“If Russia succeeds, it will have unforeseeable and unprecedented consequences for all of us, including Germany. That is precisely why I stand here firmly and unwaveringly and am not prepared to retreat a single centimetre,” Merz said. “It is now our historic duty to do everything we can to help this country and preserve peace and freedom in Europe.”
