Lithuanian army begins exercises across 12 municipalities

The Lithuanian army began exercises in 12 municipalities on Monday to train troops to operate together in response to different military threats, LRT reported.
The exercises will run until Friday and involve various types of unmanned aircraft, boats and weapons. No simulated ammunition or pyrotechnics will be used, the army said.
Troops will move on foot and in military and civilian wheeled vehicles. Training will take place during both daylight and nighttime in the municipalities of Marijampolė, Kaunas district, Vilnius district, Prienai, Alytus, Birštonas, Lazdijai, Varėna, Kaišiadorys, Elektrėnai, Trakai and Šalčininkai.
Organisers said they would ensure compliance with fire safety and environmental protection requirements at the planned training locations.
