Pärnu’s old dairy plant site to become 60 million euro business district

Developer plans to build a business district on the site of Pärnu’s old dairy plant, ERR reported, with shops, businesses, entertainment venues and a multifunctional hall.

The plant building is currently being demolished, with the work expected to continue until spring. Some of the existing buildings are also planned for preservation.

Viljo Vetik, head of Port Artur Max, said construction could begin within a couple of years and would be carried out in stages. The development is expected to cost between 50 million and 60 million euros.

“We are building a new district here. We call it the city gate,” Vetik said. The 13-hectare property is planned to include shops, businesses and some production facilities.

The plans also include a multifunctional hall with seating for up to 3,000 people, where various events could be held. Vetik said interest in the project had been growing and that the developer was continuing with its plans while awaiting the city’s own proposal.
