Former Kapo bureau chief launches strategic communications firm

Harrys Puusepp, who worked for 15 years at Estonia’s Internal Security Service and was one of the agency’s public faces, has founded a public relations company, ERR reported.

Puusepp left the agency at the end of June and established Harrystoteles OÜ at the end of July. The company’s main activities are public relations and information exchange.

Puusepp said the company’s name was not chosen at random. “The name has followed me as an inside joke for almost a quarter of a century,” he said.

He described Harrystoteles as a one-person company that advises those seeking help, primarily in strategic communications. Other related services may also be offered.

“At the moment, it is definitely still in its early stages and was mainly created so that, while I am not working full time, I could take on such small assignments more sensibly if needed,” Puusepp said.

He said he had already been able to invoice several clients and had agreed on some work for the near future. These were mainly small projects, he said, adding that he was not currently seeking anything long term.

Puusepp said he had not limited his services to either the private or public sector. However, he would not assist clients whose interests conflicted with Estonia’s security or national defence interests.

He said the state had already asked him for help and that he had been able to provide it. Puusepp confirmed that he was not currently engaged in lobbying.

Looking further ahead, Puusepp said he was still considering where he could best apply his existing knowledge and skills or learn something new. He added that he would soon be able to say that his workload would be full for a period, but did not provide further details.
