Scammers allegedly defraud Kaunas man of €80,400
Lithuania Scammers in Kaunas allegedly defrauded a man of €80,400, LRT reported, citing the Police Department.
The man, born in 1960, contacted the Kaunas Dainava police station on Wednesday. He said that on December 4 last year, he had joined a WhatsApp group through an invitation link where members were offered the opportunity to invest in certain shares.
On February 12 this year, unidentified individuals allegedly persuaded him to invest through the Freedom24 investment platform and took €80,400 from him through possible fraud.
A pre-trial investigation into fraud has been opened.
