Teacher pay talks continue over Estonia 2027 minimum salary

According to ERR, representatives of the Estonian Education Employees’ Union, the Ministry of Education and Research and school operators are continuing negotiations on teachers’ minimum salary for 2027 on Wednesday.

The parties are due to comment at 3:45 p.m. on how the talks have progressed.

The union has proposed raising the minimum teacher salary next year to at least the forecast national average wage of 2,312 euros.

At the first meeting in the spring, Education and Research Minister Kristina Kallas promised to seek a 14 percent increase in the minimum salary for teachers in 2027. That would bring the minimum to 2,246 euros.
