Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal has proposed former Commander of the Defence Forces Martin Herem as the country’s next defence minister, ERR reported.
Michal said Herem’s experience and knowledge of what needs to be improved in the Defence Ministry’s area of responsibility worked in his favour. He added that Herem would most likely become the new minister.
Michal had previously made the proposal to Herem privately, but Herem had not publicly accepted it. The Reform Party board is now expected to confirm his candidacy at its Tuesday meeting.
