Woman robbed at Vilnius bus stop after attacker knocks her down

A woman was attacked and robbed at a bus stop in Vilnius district of Antakalnis early Tuesday, LRT.lt reported. Police received a report of the incident shortly before 6 a.m.

According to the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat, an unidentified man approached the woman from behind, knocked her to the ground and possibly struck her once or several times. He then stole her handbag containing personal belongings and money.

Officers searched Sapiegų Park, a park in Vilnius, and found scattered belongings. The attacker’s identity remains unknown.

Police have opened a pretrial investigation into robbery.
