Warm weather will reach Lithuania on Tuesday before rain, thunderstorms and stronger winds bring more unsettled conditions later in the week, LRT reported, citing forecaster Ineta Daunoravičiūtė of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, although thicker clouds may appear in places. Brief rain is possible in western districts in the evening, while southerly winds will strengthen to 7 to 12 metres per second. Temperatures will range from 8 to 13 degrees Celsius at night and rise to 20 to 25 degrees during the day.

Wednesday night will remain mostly clear, with brief rain possible mainly in western areas. Temperatures will fall to 11 to 16 degrees. During the day, a cold atmospheric front will cross the country, bringing brief rain to many districts and thunderstorms in some places. Winds will gradually turn west and northwest. Temperatures will reach 23 to 28 degrees, although it will be cooler in the west, at around 19 to 22 degrees.

Rain will become heavier on Thursday, with widespread rainfall expected both overnight and during the day. The sky will remain cloudy in many areas, with heavy rain and thunderstorms possible in places. Westerly winds will strengthen. Temperatures will range from 12 to 17 degrees at night and from 15 to 20 degrees during the day, reaching up to 25 degrees in some eastern districts.

Rain will continue on Friday, though daytime showers will be brief and localised. Westerly winds will strengthen to 9 to 14 metres per second. Temperatures will fall to 7 to 12 degrees overnight, or around 14 degrees on the coast, and rise to 15 to 20 degrees during the day.

More settled weather is expected from Saturday, when winds will ease and the rain will begin to retreat. Drier conditions will prevail, with temperatures of 6 to 11 degrees at night and 17 to 21 degrees during the day.
