ETV2 dedicates themed evening to Vladislav Koržets

Estonian public broadcaster ERR reports that ETV2 will devote Sunday evening to Vladislav Koržets, who turns 75 on September 9.

The programme begins at 7:30 p.m. with “Vladislav – Mathematician with a Pen and a Fishing Rod” (2021). The programme portrays Koržets in his various roles as a mathematician, presenter, writer, humorist, nature enthusiast and one of Estonia’s best-known anglers, including a fishing trip with him. The presenter, director and producer is Kaidor Kahar, with Laura Kõrvits as editor.

At 8:30 p.m., “Moments from the Past: Vladislav Koržets” (2016) will feature moments from the ETV archive in which Koržets is the central figure.

“Laughterobics” (1986) follows at 8:45 p.m. The programme features stories by Arkadi Haït, Mikhail Mishin, Igor Irtenyev, Joan Mills, Felix Kamov, Yuri Alexandrov, Lion Izmailov, Nasrullo Asadullov and Eduard Uspensky, translated and adapted for the stage by Priit Aimla. The performers include actors Eino Baskin, Tõnu Aav, Aarne Üksküla, Helle-Reet Helenurm, Tõnu Kilgas, Paul Poom, Guido Kangur and Eero Spriit. Authors Lembit Sibul and Vladislav Koržets will perform their own works.

At 10:05 p.m., “Dialogue: Vladislav Koržets” (2016) will look ahead and back while seeking answers to questions about what is happening or is about to happen.

“Osoon: Koržets’ Final Programme” (2017) begins at 10:35 p.m. Over a decade, Koržets introduced thousands of viewers to nature through his life wisdom, positive outlook and sharp words. In keeping with his role as a nature programme host and fishing enthusiast, he ends his television career by rowing in a kuurits fishing event on Lake Viitina. Koržets, Kristo Elias, Sander Loite and Mari Kalkun, known as “the bag boy”, take part in the traditional competition.

The evening concludes at 1:05 a.m. with “Jah! Show” (1993), an entertainment programme featuring trick performers, dancers, Hardi Tiidus, Koržets, Justament and a studio audience. Vahur Kersna hosts the programme.
