Seimas member Laura Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė is considering leaving the Social Democratic Party and its parliamentary faction, LRT reported on Friday, citing the Lrytas news portal.
In July, the politician said she had been deceived by the party’s new leader and Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius after changes to the ruling coalition cost her the chairmanship of the Seimas Committee on Youth and Sports Affairs.
“We will see how the dialogue develops. But in reality, it can be said that I was tricked and deceived, and I call it a stab in the back. The wound is still bleeding. Since the wound is bleeding, I don’t know. You know how it is with such a bleeding wound — it is very difficult, it seems to me, to move forward,” Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė told the portal.
Social Democrat Algimantas Radvila replaced her as committee chair.
