Quiz explores why roosters appear on many primers

The Estonian National Library’s education centre has compiled a family quiz for Knowledge Day, ERR reports.

The quiz tests readers’ knowledge of how Knowledge Day is marked in Estonia and elsewhere. It also explores symbols associated with wisdom and looks at first-day-of-school traditions around the world.

Among other questions, the quiz asks why a rooster appears on the covers of many primers, when the school year begins in other countries and at what age children no longer have to attend school.
