Scammers trick Vilnius woman out of 22,400 euros

Scammers persuaded a woman in Vilnius to invest money and took 22,400 euros from her, LRT reported, citing police.

The woman, born in 1969, told police on Monday that an unknown Russian-speaking person contacted her through an online messaging app between June 12 and July 23. The person persuaded her to invest money through an online platform.

Police said the money was obtained through deception. A pre-trial investigation into fraud has been opened.
