Sinkevičius to discuss autumn priorities with coalition partners

Lithuanian Prime Minister and Social Democratic Party leader Mindaugas Sinkevičius has invited coalition partners to a working lunch to discuss priorities for the upcoming autumn session of parliament, LRT reported Monday.

“The prime minister wants to discuss the priorities and most important tasks of the upcoming autumn session of the Seimas with the leaders of the coalition parties,” government adviser Gedas Salyga told BNS.

The meeting will also be attended by Virginijus Sinkevičius, leader of the Democrats For Lithuania and a member of the European Parliament, and Aurelijus Veryga, leader of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union and a member of the European Parliament.

The Seimas autumn session will begin on September 10.

BNS reported that the Social Democratic Party, the Democrats For Lithuania, and the parliamentary groups of the Lithuanian Farmers, Greens and Christian Families Union signed an agreement on a new governing coalition in mid-June. The coalition holds 75 seats in the Seimas.

Mindaugas Sinkevičius government began work on July 14.
