Off-duty firefighter caught driving drunk in Rietavas

An off-duty firefighter-rescuer was caught driving a car while intoxicated in Rietavas on Saturday, LRT reported, citing the Police Department.

Police stopped an Opel Zafira on Vatušių Street at about 3:05 p.m. The vehicle was driven by a uniformless firefighter-rescuer from the Klaipėda Fire and Rescue Board, born in 1991.

The driver’s blood alcohol level was measured at 1.73 per mille. Police have launched a pre-trial investigation into driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
