Klaipėda woman loses 20,000 euros in online investment scam

A woman from Klaipėda, a Lithuanian port city, lost 20,000 euros after Russian-speaking strangers persuaded her to transfer money to an online investment platform, LRT reported.
The 1968-born woman contacted Klaipėda police on Wednesday. She said the fraud took place on August 19 and 20 at her home on Taikos Avenue, where she communicated with the strangers through WhatsApp.
Police have collected material for a pretrial investigation into suspected fraud.
