Warm, sunny weather to give way to weekend rain

Warm and sunny weather is expected in the coming days, but rain and unsettled conditions will return at the weekend, LRT Radio reports, citing Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service forecaster Ineta Daunoravičiūtė.

On Wednesday, a high-pressure system will strengthen. Cloud cover will increase, but sunny spells will remain. Brief, light rain is possible in eastern Lithuania, while the western part of the country should stay dry. Winds will be light and from the north, with temperatures reaching 18 to 22 degrees Celsius.

The sky will clear overnight into Thursday, and winds will weaken. Fog will reduce visibility, while temperatures will fall to 6 to 11 degrees by early morning. More clouds will develop during the day, but rain is not expected. Temperatures will rise to 19 to 24 degrees.

No rain is forecast on Friday, either overnight or during the day. Temperatures will range from 7 to 12 degrees at night and reach 20 to 25 degrees during the day.

Weather conditions will change at the weekend. Saturday is expected to be unsettled as a new cyclone moves in from the west and reaches the coast overnight. Brief showers are likely in many districts during the day, with thunderstorms possible in some places. Winds from southern directions will also strengthen.
