ERR reports that Kumu Reiv will take place on August 28 as part of the Kumu art museum’s 20th anniversary programme and Tallinn Culture Night, in collaboration with Hall club.

The event will open with a concert programme in the museum courtyard, featuring Estonian musician Maarja Nuut and Swiss composer Nicolas Stocker. The programme will conclude with a performance by Ukrainian producer and musician SI Process, who has previously appeared at Tallinn Music Week.

Overnight, the event will continue in Kumu’s car tunnel, which will be decorated with light installations as well as music. The tunnel is normally inaccessible to visitors. Local artists Merimell, Qslap and Richard Boukine will perform there.

Visitors will also be able to see the social art project “Hold Me in a Hug. Monument to Survival” in the courtyard. Created in cooperation with young people receiving services at closed children’s institutions, the project gives a voice to young people who often go unnoticed.

The courtyard installation brings together the young people’s works, including a bus stop, kiosk, car and playhouse, into a social sculpture park. The project was initiated by Marta Vaarik and Juri Krutii.

Kumu Reiv starts at 8:30 p.m. and continues until the early hours of the morning. The courtyard exhibition will remain open until 5 a.m.
