Estonia to reach 20 degrees as rain eases

Temperatures in Estonia will rise to 20 degrees on Tuesday as rain becomes less frequent and winds gradually weaken, ERR reports.

Estonia will remain on the edge of a weakening low-pressure system moving slowly east over northern Russia. Its influence near the Baltic Sea will diminish before a high-pressure system expanding east from Scandinavia takes over.

Cloud cover will vary overnight, with occasional showers and local fog. Northwest and north winds will blow at 1 to 7 metres per second, reaching up to 9 metres per second on the coast and gusting to 14 metres per second. Temperatures will range from 8 to 13 degrees, reaching 16 degrees on the coast.

Tuesday morning will be clear or partly cloudy, with isolated showers. Winds will come from the northwest and north at 1 to 7 metres per second, with coastal gusts of up to 12 metres per second. Temperatures will reach 11 to 16 degrees.

During the day, skies will be lightly or partly cloudy, with occasional showers. Northwest and north winds will blow at 2 to 8 metres per second, gusting to 12 metres per second. Temperatures will rise to between 16 and 20 degrees.

Clouds will thin in the evening and there will be little or no rain. Winds will remain northwesterly at 2 to 7 metres per second, reaching up to 10 metres per second on the coast. Temperatures will be between 14 and 17 degrees.

Wednesday and Thursday will bring isolated showers, mainly in coastal areas. Winds will be light and nights cool, with minimum temperatures of 6 to 12 degrees and coastal temperatures of up to 15 degrees. Daytime temperatures will reach around 20 degrees and locally higher.

Friday will also be mostly dry, with warmer overnight temperatures and daytime highs around 20 degrees. On Saturday, rain will reach the islands in the morning and spread eastwards across Estonia in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain moderately warm.
