Latvian Television reported that the Latvian Public Media and charity organisation Ziedot.lv campaign “Together with Ukraine in thought and deed” has raised 42,809 euros to support the rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers.

The campaign was launched to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day. Donations will fund medical care, psychological support, recovery and assistance with returning to civilian life.

The campaign runs from August 17 to September 13. Donations can be made through the Ziedot.lv website or by calling 90204113. A call costs five euros, including value-added tax.

Soldiers returning from the front need both medical and psychological support to recover from the physical and mental trauma caused by the war and regain their strength for everyday life.

LSM and Ziedot.lv have supported aid efforts for Ukraine since the start of the war, collecting more than two million euros. A 2022 “Dod pieci!” charity marathon raised 896,701 euros to support Ukrainian refugee children in Latvia.

A campaign held in February and March 2024 raised almost 355,000 euros. Another campaign held around Ukraine’s Independence Day that August collected almost 335,000 euros. In 2025, campaigns raised more than 465,000 euros in February and March, and 240,000 euros in August and September. This year’s February campaign raised more than 745,000 euros.
