Musician Lepatriinu, whose real name is Triinu Paomets, is writing her fourth album and says she follows whatever sparks her excitement, ERR reported through its Vikerraadio radio station.

More than half of the album is already complete. Paomets said her inspiration comes from many different sources, as she works across several creative fields.

“I generally start by asking how much energy I have, whether I want to sit or stand, and whether I want visual beauty or beautiful lyrics for the soul. That is how the creative work progresses,” she said.

Paomets, who was born in 1991, also said people can always find something to complain about, including construction work and traffic jams in Estonia.

“Apparently Tallinn will never be finished; something always needs to be built,” she said, adding that people should seek out beautiful things in their lives instead of constantly complaining.

Paomets said the question “What is the meaning of life?” is profound only if a person has not thought about it before.

“We should all always have some dream to strive towards. I always say: go wherever excitement takes you and do whatever seems most exciting to you,” she said.
