NATO fighter training may cause explosion-like sounds in northern Lithuania

Planned training flights by NATO air policing mission fighter jets are taking place in northern Lithuania on Monday afternoon, LRT reported.

The Lithuanian Air Force said on Facebook that supersonic-speed training in designated areas may produce sounds resembling explosions.

“Please share this information with your relatives, remain calm and do not be alarmed. The pilots are training to ensure the security of our airspace,” the statement said.

The NATO air policing mission in the Baltic states operates from Lithuania and Estonia.
