Olaines, storm damage, water supply

Olaines residents are being supplied with water from a tank outside the municipal building after Saturday’s storm, LSM reported, citing the LETA news agency and the Olaines municipality.

Olaines Water and Heat is arranging water supplies in the city using generators. Water service was also interrupted until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Residents who need water can collect it from the tank outside the municipal building. Work is also under way to clear storm damage in Olaines Mežaparks and across the city.

LETA observed fallen trees in several parts of the municipality, including along the Jelgava highway.

The storm that hit Latvia on Saturday evening and overnight into Sunday left more than a quarter of a million households without electricity.
