ETV2 dedicates themed evening to Priit Pärn’s 80th birthday

Estonian public broadcaster ERR reports that ETV2 will dedicate its Sunday evening themed programming to animation film director Priit Pärn, who turns 80 on August 26.

At 7.30 p.m., the channel will show “Kultuuri kodu: Priit Pärn,” a 2025 short portrait from the series marking the 100th anniversary of the Estonian Cultural Endowment. The programme is directed by Erle Veber, with texts by Urmas Vadi read by Marika Vaarik.

At 7.35 p.m., “Tähtelaev: Priit Pärn” from 2010 will follow. The programme presents Pärn as an artist, animation film director, caricaturist, graphic artist and global citizen. He is interviewed by presenter Urmas Vaino, and the programme is directed by Kalev Lepik.

At 8.50 p.m., ETV2 will broadcast “1895,” a 1995 animated film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of cinema. Directed by Priit Pärn and Janno Põldma, the film explores the lives of brothers August and Louis Lumière, who are known as the inventors of cinematography.

The evening will end at 10 p.m. with “Frank and Wendy,” a 2005 animated film about two American secret service agents sent to a dangerous place called Estonia. The film was produced by Eesti Joonisfilm and directed under the name David Snowman by Priit Pärn, Kaspar Jancis, Ülo Pikkov and Priit Tender.
