Raimonds Pauls ends 70-year career at Latvian Radio

Composer Raimonds Pauls has concluded his work at Latvian Public Media after 70 years at Latvian Radio, LSM reported.

Pauls began working with Latvian Radio in 1956. Over the following decades, he helped shape the broadcaster’s musical content and worked with it on numerous music projects and concert programmes.

Latvian Radio and Pauls shared a close and creative partnership throughout those 70 years. The broadcaster played an important role in his creative life, while his music became an integral part of Latvian Radio’s sound and listeners’ daily lives.

Latvian Public Media expressed its deepest respect and gratitude to Pauls for their years of work together, his invaluable contribution to Latvian Radio and music that will remain in listeners’ memories for generations.
