Explosive operations to neutralise a drone that fell in Latvia will continue on Saturday in Rugāji Parish, LSM reported, citing the National Armed Forces.
A loud blast may be heard in Rugāji Parish and the surrounding area. Explosive work was also carried out on Friday, but the National Armed Forces said residents did not need to take any special precautions.
Fighter jets from NATO’s Baltic air-policing mission shot down the foreign drone in Balvi Municipality on Friday morning after it entered Latvian airspace as a result of Russian electronic warfare. Authorities said some of the wreckage may have fallen into a lake and that residents faced no safety risks in the area where the drone was brought down. People were asked to report any drone wreckage they find to police.
