Reports that soldiers had died during the Baltic Trust 26 military exercises are false, Latvia’s National Armed Forces said, according to LSM.
The National Armed Forces described the reports as part of a coordinated disinformation campaign. No such incident occurred, and the exercises were conducted without incidents, it said.
“This is a clear example of another attempt to discredit the armed forces and NATO,” the National Armed Forces said.
Baltic Trust 26 took place from August 3 to 14 at the Sēlija training ground, with about 650 participants from Latvia, other NATO member states and partner countries, including Ukraine, Australia and Japan.
