A girl is suspected of assaulting a 12-year-old boy in a park on V. Krėvės Avenue in Kaunas, LRT reported, citing the Police Department.

A woman born in 1987 contacted Kaunas County Police Headquarters at 9:23 p.m. on Wednesday. She said that at about 7:50 p.m., an unknown girl had assaulted her son, who was born in 2014.

The girl’s identity is being established. Police have launched a pre-trial investigation into causing physical pain or a minor health impairment.

The incident was the second offence registered in the same park that evening. At about 8 p.m., a 10-year-old child allegedly threatened and injured another minor during a conflict. The nine-year-old victim refused medical assistance, and both children were handed over to their parents at the scene.

Police collected material concerning a possible breach of public order. The child is unlikely to face charges, as people in Lithuania can be held criminally responsible from the age of 14, and only for certain offences.
