12-year-old detained after knife threat in Kaunas park

A 12-year-old was detained after allegedly threatening a person with a knife in Kaunas’s Dainava Park on Wednesday evening, LRT reported, citing the Kas vyksta Kaune news portal.

Police received a report at 8:09 p.m. that five minors had attacked another person in the park. Initial information indicated that the victim had been threatened with a knife.

One victim suffered a scratch to the palm of the right hand. The injury was not life-threatening. The suspected attacker was detained, the knife was found and no further danger to bystanders remains.

Police are carrying out procedural actions and have identified everyone involved in the conflict.
