High pressure keeps Thursday mostly dry as temperatures reach 21 degrees

Thursday will be mostly dry in Estonia, with temperatures rising to between 17 and 21 degrees, ERR reported, citing weather forecaster Taimi Paljak.

Air pressure will continue to rise as a high-pressure system over Poland extends across the Baltic states. A low-pressure system over northern Russia could bring rain showers, particularly to Virumaa. Overnight skies will largely clear, with temperatures falling to between 5 and 10 degrees inland and reaching up to 15 degrees on the coast and under cloudier skies.

Northwesterly and westerly winds will blow at 3 to 9 metres per second, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second on the coast. The wind will weaken after midnight. Thursday morning will be mostly clear and dry, although showers may develop from clouds over Virumaa. Temperatures will range from 10 to 15 degrees, reaching up to 17 degrees on the coast.

Thursday afternoon will become cloudier in western areas, but will remain dry. Winds from the west will reach 3 to 8 metres per second, with gusts of up to 12 metres per second, while winds will be lighter on the islands. Thursday evening will bring thin cloud and light winds, with temperatures between 15 and 19 degrees.

Friday will be mostly dry under the edge of a high-pressure area, with temperatures around 10 degrees overnight and rising a few degrees above 20 during the day. Saturday will bring warmer and more humid air. Rain showers will be more widespread overnight and isolated during the day, with temperatures near 10 degrees at night and around 25 degrees during the day.
