Skusevičius takes over as Lithuania’s foreign ministry policy director

Darius Skusevičius has this week taken up the position of policy director at Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, LRT reported.
He replaces Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, who was appointed ambassador to the Netherlands in April.
Skusevičius has worked at the ministry since 2013. He served as deputy foreign minister from 2017 to 2019 and as Lithuania’s ambassador to Canada from 2019 to 2024. After returning to Vilnius, he became an ambassador for special assignments and coordinated issues related to Ukraine’s reconstruction.
Skusevičius holds a master’s degree in political science from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science at Vilnius University and a bachelor’s degree in management from ISM University of Management and Economics.
In 2022, he received the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ second-degree medal for merits to Lithuanian diplomacy.
