Kalev Stoicescu has left the Eesti 200 political party, ERR reported on Sunday, saying he still intends to contribute to Estonia’s future in defence, security and foreign policy.
“I informed Kristina Kallas and the Eesti 200 faction in the Riigikogu today that I am leaving Eesti 200. Done,” Stoicescu wrote on social media.
He said the decision had been developing for a long time and that he had considered whether to remain in politics at all. Stoicescu left the party’s board in February 2024 and did not run in the October 2025 local elections.
“People close to me and voters have unanimously advised me to continue and run in the next parliamentary elections. I trust myself and the people close to me,” he said.
Stoicescu added that he had already received offers to join other parties but had not made a decision.
He ran for the Riigikogu with Eesti 200 in 2019, receiving 395 votes. In the 2023 parliamentary elections, he won 3,663 votes in electoral district No. 5, covering Hiiu, Lääne and Saare counties, and was elected. He received 1,678 votes in the 2024 European Parliament elections but was not elected.
