ERR reported that Jupiter will stream the 16th song and dance festival for people with special needs from 2 p.m. on Saturday. The event will take place at the Viljandi song festival grounds.
This year’s festival, titled “We Must Support One Another,” focuses on the importance of noticing, supporting and caring for one another, as well as feeling part of a community. Nearly 1,400 singers and dancers with special needs from across Estonia will perform. Guest performer Hanna-Liina Võsa will also appear.
The annual festival is one of the year’s most anticipated events for participants, bringing together friends from across Estonia who often cannot meet during the rest of the year. Singing and dancing together gives them confidence and an opportunity to show the joy, dedication and talent among people with special needs.
The event in Viljandi will include sign-language interpretation, written interpretation and audio description to make it as accessible as possible to people with hearing and visual impairments. The livestream will be available on Jupiter, with audio description also offered.
