The National Guard will conduct exercises involving drones and sound-producing training ammunition in Garkalne, a locality in Ropaži Municipality, from August 8 to 9, LSM reported.

The exercises by the 13th Infantry Battalion of the National Guard’s 1st Riga Brigade are aimed at improving soldiers’ combat capabilities and tactical skills.

According to the National Guard staff, the training will take place during both daylight and nighttime, in terrain and urban environments. Soldiers will practise operating effectively in different conditions through several tactical scenarios.

The drones and training ammunition used in the Garkalne area will produce sound but will not endanger people’s lives or health. Military vehicles may also move briefly along roads in Ropaži Municipality.
