Moby performs in Tartu to mark Play anniversary
Estonia US musician and producer Moby performed at Tartu song festival grounds on Thursday, marking the 25th anniversary of his album Play, Estonian public broadcaster ERR reported.
Moby began his career in punk rock before moving towards electronic dance music and rave. He has released 22 studio albums, which have sold more than 20 million copies altogether.
His 1999 album Play brought him wider recognition and was highly praised by critics and listeners. Rolling Stone magazine included it among the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Moby’s best-known songs include Honey, Porcelain, Flower, Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?, Natural Blues and Bodyrock.
His music has also featured in major films, including The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio, the Bourne film series starring Matt Damon and the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, which starred Pierce Brosnan.
In addition to his own music, Moby has produced and remixed work for artists including David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, The Beastie Boys, Daft Punk and Public Enemy. He has also been nominated for and won various music awards, including Grammys, Billboard Music Awards, Brit Awards, MTV Awards and NME Awards.
